The News section of this website can be used for general church news, but it can also be used for weekly news items, such as the posting of church services, bulletins, or mass emails. The News category will be the most dynamic section of the website, so you'll want to check here for updates. If demand indicates other sections would make more sense, then those can always be added.
This website also embeds both the church and school Facebook pages, meaning those social media outlets become a secondary source for the news. Since you can see the Facebook feeds along with the website news and events in Google Calendar right here on gracelcms.com, this is the place to be.
Because articles in this category will automatically be archived, there's no real need to delete many of them. In fact, it's often better to leave them here, just in case someone happens across some of the search terms you've used in your article. For example, you might have an article that mentions Hurricane Matthew, Hurricane Irma, Grace Lutheran Jax, The Reformation, and the many uses of baking soda. And now, for the rest of life on earth, or until we destroy the internet, anyone searching for some or all of those items in one article may find this one.
In order to help search engines find this article and index it, we can also add the terms we want indexed to the Meta Description and Meta Tags under the Publishing section when we edit articles. But Google generally finds articles without the added work, so it's somewhat optional.
We can also add internal links, like this one to the new website article. But it's also important to get links from Facebook, Twitter, or other websites (like other churches or LCMS districts). Mostly, however, we want to make sure that we continue to add content to this website so that people find our church for all the reasons they might be searching for our church.
